Default I risked life & limb......

Literally! I walked out onto the ice for this angle. I had to snap the shot quickly as the cracking sound started. I got 2 shots with different settings(Shooting in manual mode). Started off toward the rivers edge just as I broke through the ice. It was between 1/4 to 1/2 mile walk back to my car with wet feet in 12 degree weather! I'm getting to old for this shi.......stuff!!

Here is the view from the river's edge. As you can see by the foot prints, there were people there before me.

So, what can we conclude from this?

1) I'm an idiot
2) I need to move south where it's warm year round
3) I need to lose weight
4) I need a pair of snowshoes

A couple more for your pleasure.
View looking the other direction. You'd think I would be happy with this & not have risked my life!

Top of the bluffs where it was safe. You can only fall 40ft.

What I can conclude is: You da Man! Please don't move south, then you will not be able to bring us these fantatic shots. #1 is my fav, although all of them are excellent. Glad you survived.

DigiDave,

Glad to see you made it out alive and with great shots no less. My favorite is #3. It reminds me of home (I'm originally from northern Wisconsin).

Sorry about your frozen feet, but those shots are wonderful, especially the first one.

Default Brrrr - Now that looks cold

Hi DigiDave,

I'm new to the forum.. Can I ask? What glass did you use for the shots. They are real pin sharp! They scream cold to me.

Best Regards

Karl.

All these shots were taken with Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens.

Thanks for looking everyone. My feet will live to see another day.
