As the year ends and a new one begins, I would like to send you a stanza of a poem by John O'Donohue. Here's a toast to the enduring gifts of 2009 and a wish for new delights for 2010. ![]() This was how 2009 started for me: Still Life. Some of you may recall a thread entitled Still Life Open Invitational. This was my first effort and, I have to say, it was quite a challenge. Please stay tuned. In a few days I will be starting a new thread with the hopes that you will also try your hand at Still Life. Preview of a Coming Attractions: Still Life Photography This was also the year of the Saguaro Endurance Test. In May 2009, I posted a seven-part series on the Saguaro. I must have been out of my mind! Actually, though, it was fun and I sure learned a lot that I did not previously know about this familiar sentinel of the desert. Thanks to all who went the distance.

I have to agree with Sherilliz...I bow to the master as well. Linda, what can any of us say? You are so much that I am not...eloquent to start with. So knowledgeable...and willing to share what you have. I always look forward to anything posted by you, whether photos and narration or comments on someone elses threads. It is always uplifting to read anything posted by you...and I thank you my friend for your kindliness and grace.
This thread illustrates what I've just said...the first with the gorgeous reflection in the glass and the poem....you Rock my friend.

That glass shot has to be one of my favorites.....who can forget the saguaro series......you established your place, your niche and your style with that series.....and we all learned something to boot! Linda, I have no idea what we will be shooting this year but I know that both of us enjoy the sharing and the friendships as much if not more than than the shooting itself. So here's to alot more sharing and hopefully meeting and greeting among the dps members
