Default First Time Sharing - Obi Wan Kenobi

Hope I do this right. I have only had my Canon Rebel XS for about 4 days. I love to take pictures, but really have no idea what I am doing. I'm excited to be here and have been reading for weeks trying to figure out what the heck you all are talking about. lol

I don't know why, but I was pleased with the way this photo turned out. It's one of my twins' toys. I was outside and just had the camera on portrait setting. I don't even know how to find this EXIF data that you all talk about and it's all greek letters to me. I did a little sepia tone to it but kept the eyes blue.

Anyhow, here you go.

I like it, m23m!
Welcome to DPS, you will learn a lot from some wonderful folks here! I sure have in the past few months. Most importantly, I've just played with my camera and experimented. As someone on here said, "1's and 0's are free." I've deleted a lot of aweful-ness, but it hasn't cost me anything but time, and I've learned a few tricks along the way. I've still got a looooonnnnggg way to go, though!
Have fun!

Hey, WELCOME to DPS....the best family you could be a part of. You will learn so much here, but take your time, there's no rush...have fun most of all. Questions are welcome here. As for the EXIF data, you only need to post that in the critique secions. I didn't know what it was either. You will learn, have fun.

Ha! I think the reason I really like the photo is because it's FUN. It's a whimsical photo but taken carefully. Really like the post production too. I love it!

Thumbs up Good photo

Tt's a good photo, but if you can give Obi Wan Kenobi an extra finger, it would be great

Just joking - good photo and welcome to the forums!

Dave

Well done Mom. A good opening shot and the first of many I hope. Best to learn by making as many mistakes as you possibly can. Keep clicking and experimenting, and of course, posting. Good luck. PAUL
Maybe some of the 3 monkeys soon eh?

Smile There is a lot to learn here.

Welcome to DPS, great first post. I just learned this week from other DPS members that if you use Flickr you can click on the picture then click on “more properties” and it will give you the EXIF data. The people on DPS are always very helpful; I too have just started shooting and have learned a ton from this site. Look forward to seeing more pics from you.
