I think that is just a picture, I do not see anything abstract - just a mess.
The picture is tilted, sometimes it adds that something. For me there is no idea here.

Thanks Shellie for the comments! And you can see more of my passion in flickr. I have another post http://digital-photography-school.co...l-flowers.html. Hope you like it!
Thanks for the honest comment Daniel.. but what I read and was told is that an abstract photography is a process of using colours and patterns combined to create an image, with no true meaning or no clear subject involved. Abstract photography is not necessarily going to mean the same thing to everyone, it leaves more to the imagination and helps us concentrate on texture and colour rather than the whole subject. And in this picture I thought I have used the color and the patterns- vertical and horizontal lines along with the angular ladder etc.. that's the reason I thought it was an abstract shot.. am still learning and hope will learn from you all!!!

Sri, hi there. Seeing this shot...I wouldn't have thought abstract, but then I don't really know anything about that subject. You have explained it well, and as such, I guess it could qualify...
You tried and that's what counts...we all learn here...and we share..the main reason for the site. Keep trying and I'm sure you'll learn as we all have.

I love to do abstract photography. Looking at your picture that isn't the first thing that came to mind. I understand trial and error learning- we all do it. I think that the success of an abstract photo is when the viewer says, I know what the subject is, but have never thought it could presented that way. For some inspiration you should check out Flickr's abstract photography group. I did look at your Flickr, and I thought a lot of your abstract work reminded me of still life. That my friend, you have a nice handle on. Keep trying... that's all I can say.
