so, im originally from portland oregon where, when we GET snow, its wet and chunky. when i moved to eastern idaho i saw my first REAL snowflake...and these snowflakes get along SO well with my macro lenses!!

I have no idea how you photograph individual snow flakes - as I have only seen snow once in my life - but these are amazing.

No way! I had no idea snowflakes really look like that. WOW! I just thought they were little itty bitty chunks. (Can you tell I'm a California girl yet?) Beautiful shots!

Very nice!! I just visited Whistler, Canada for some snowboarding. My black jacket was covered with snowflakes that looked like what you captured in your images. I never knew snow flakes looked like that in reality!

WELCOME to DPS
Coming from New England, I have also seen many snowflakes and indeed individual ones, but never photographed any...these are really stunning. Nicely done.

That is neat. I caught a bunch of similar ones of ice crystals on my car windshield:

Beautiful captures. I love looking at snowflakes...
I remember reading a few years ago about a guy who took thousands of snowflake photos and cataloged them somehow. I'm going to have to track that down again. Good thing it is quiet at work today.
