Default JustJim's best of 2009

It wasn't hard for me to pick, since I've only recently had my shutterbugitis come back after a decade of 'remision'. It's got me good this time though...

Special mention for PP
Tortoise
Tortoise1

#3 - Cicada Molt
CicadaEmerging

#2 - Magpies
fight soft framed 600

And the winner is....
#1 - Seat and Shadow
Seat and shadow600

I'd like to wish all my new-found friends here at DPS a safe, happy and prosperous 2010. Good health and good light to you all.
Jim

Hello Jim, I can see why the bench is your fav, good clean lines. I like the tortoise though, I really like the treatment you did with it and I love the action of the magpies, well captured. HNY to you and yours.

Great shots Jim, I especially like the magpies - you have caught them perfectly.

Cheers and Happy New Year, the fireworks are about to start here in Sydney.

Happy New Year Jim. Great favourites of yours here, and before I started experimenting and slipping outside my comfort zone I would have chosen the magpies as my favourite, but now - THE BENCH. I am constantly looking for that type of shot. Glad the bug has got you now, cos 2010 is going to be great and i look forward to spending it with you. PAUL

Thank you, sorry about the dizziness, I'll take half the blame if you'll put the other half on the wine.

Thanks Mark. The shutterbugitis was only ever dormant, it was probably always going to break out again. It do eat up the money though! At least I'm saving money on chemicals, paper and developer bulbs.

Thank you Michael, I like the maggies as well. But not Collingwood Magpies (if you don't understand that, don't worry, it is a local football reference).

Hey, thanks Dave. I forgot that it was my half millennium post, even though I set it up that way.

Thanks Brendan. The Seat and the Shadow is my favourite shot for the (admittedly abbreviated) year. I think I might have to print this and hang it on my wall. Now digital printing is another mystery to me, so much research has to go into this first.

Thanks, Leona. Appreciate the comments. I like the tortoise OOB shot too. Apparently this animal has some connection with Charles Darwin, but I can't remember the full details.

Thanks, Gerard. I was pretty happy with that shot as well. Thank goodness for motor drive, or whatever the digital term is! The shots either side of this were either boring or just wrong.

Thank you Paul. That one is my favourite as mentioned above. I agree that you've got to 'push the envelope' all the time or you get trapped.

It's now well into 2010 here so, again, Happy New Year to you all. Good luck, good health and above all, good light to you all.

Jim
