When it snows in Sedona, we have just enough for a few hours of beauty, and then it melts away. So here's what I woke up to on a recent winter morning:
At 7:00 in the morning, the clouds were still heavy and dark. (If you open this one in the large size, you'll see a hawk soaring on the air currents above the cliffs.) ![]() As the sun began to warm them up, the clouds became wispy, and drifted in and out of the rocks. ![]() As the sun breaks through, there is just a sprinkle of snow on the rocks. It always looks to me like powdered sugar! ![]() And by 9:00 in the morning, most of the snow had melted. But this prickly pear cactus was still wearing little white snow caps. ![]() Thanks for looking! As always your comments are appreciated.

These are beautiful shots, Helen. I love the way you've shown the way the landscape changes, subtle but changing. I very much like your last shot because no matter how old I get, I'm never going to tire of seeing snow on cactus! Lovely shots, all.
