So, i bought a single flash with a umbrella this past week! I took some pictures of my sister, who did her makeup. I don't know how she did it but she was able to paint her face practically and change the shape of her lips, nose, chin and eyebrows. I'm pretty sure i used a +2 or +3 magnification filter with this pic, i have a feeling i'm wrong.

Camera: Nikon D40
Exposure: 0.001 sec (1/800)
Aperture: Maybe ƒ/5 orƒ/4 ? I really can't remember. It's hard to when you have a manual lens.
Focal Length: 55 mm
ISO Speed: 200
Flash: half power (I think. I changed up a lot)

Nice sharp focus in the eye of the umbrella. Quite ironic really isnt it. Great shot Genevieve. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Would you say the umbrella is too close to the subject? I just got the flash so I'm new with this.
