Default Christmas Wishes

Sick still, so I couldn't get too creative for a card, but this is a little display set up at our local Botannical Gardens and when I saw it I knew I would love to share it.

I can hardly put my wishes for you all into words...when I think of what this community has done for me, not only with honing photographic skills, but on other levels as well. I've made some of the best friends I've ever had on this forum and some of you have been there with me through some rougher times. This is one of those times as the anniversary of my son's loss in Iraq draws near.....I want to tell you all I love you and your friendship means more to me than words can express.
The following words were written by one of you....for my son Ben and I'm hoping he doesn't mind if I share them, but they mean so much to me at this time...and I want to share them ...

For Sgt. Benjamin W. Biskie
Killed in Action 24th December 2003
“Cradled in the Saviours Arms”

He knew ‘Freedom’s special flavour’ like we can never know.
He trod dark, unguided paths where we would never go.
He loved kids with a passion the like a saint can’t feel.
He fought for his country with honour, courage, zeal.

He will not grow older, as we who linger will.
He is cradled in the Saviours arms and knows no ill.
Fear can have no place where he doth now reside,
As he watches o’er his loved ones ‘cross the heavenly divide.

These six years past can never ease the sorrow in my heart.
Times a healer, friends will say, and true it plays its part.
But the only day the pain will dissipate is when
I am re-united with my dear, beloved Ben.

My Merriest Christmas Wishes and Holiday wishes to those who don't celebrate Christmas as we do. I wish you all a year filled with happiness and joy and no sorrow.

A lovely photo and beautiful verse Leona. Made me feel quite sad yet peaceful at the same time. I know there are no words I can say to ease the pain of your loss or how you feel at this time of year, but please know I am thinking of you in a special place in my heart. I hope you and your lovely family are able to have some Christmas cheer this holiday, in Ben's honor, with very special memories of him.
