Sunday was our final night for delivering to your communities children. In a town of less then 9000 we had about 850 kids to deliver too. Our biggest year to date. We spend months preparing for this. Going out and getting donations, weeks arranging the toys by age groups. and then placing toys in hundreds of bags so when our volunteers arrive to warp them, all they have to do is pick up a card withthe childs name and age, go and pick out a bag of toys that is all ready marked for that age and start wrapping. On delivery night, we have a driver, Santa and elves that drive around and deliver.
These 2 gals volunteer every year to be elves and thought it might be nice to do something nice for them.

The look on the childrens faces are so heart warming. 9 times out of 10 you walk away with tears in your eyes to see the joy these children feel when they see Santa coming to thier home and the wide eyed wonder when Santa knows thier name!
It isnt always so cheery tho. There are homes that will break your heart. One family was a young mother with a young child and they had had was a chair. No tv, no dining room table no nothing. We went out and got her atree with all the fixins, brought her a basket of food and wished we could do more

Ah. As I was scrolling down, I was thinking that I'd make a smart remark about how I hoped Santa would bring me a couple of elves like the smiling pair in your shot. Then I got to the last post before this one.... ah.
Thank you, and all those in your town who do what you do. Wonderful work.
