Default Still learning about studio photography

Hi,
I'm still a noob in Studio Photography. This was taken on a birthday party.
I still have trouble positioning and using the light correctly.
Does anyone have any good links on how to use and setup lighting ?
Thanks in advance!!
Here are my shots:

B&W:

Exif:
Nikon D90
35mm
f-stop: 5,6
exposure: 1/200

Let me know what your thoughts are.
Cheers,

I think your lighting was very good. Plenty of good tips right here on DPS which is a great starting point.

I like the directional lighting - good effect and good photo.

I know squat about indoor portrait lighting, but this Zack Arias tutorial (and his other tutorials) seems like a good one to me.

And if you want specific input/critque on any particular portrait, you might want to consider posting it in the portrait critique section here on DPS. There are quite a few knowledgeable folks who are happy to help and share their knowledge.

So very nice! I really like the color version best -- I think it shows off her beautiful skin and hair. You've captured such a lovely expression.

Well, I think you are on the right track. These images are really good! I agree with the recommendations made in previous posts above; there's plenty on DPS to keep you busy for a while.
