I have been looking at everyone's winter wonderlands - they are stunningly beautiful. Where I live in Australia we don't have snow - it is something I have only experienced once - and really enjoyed tramping around while it was snowing. Anyway, I decided to try and warm up your day a bit by sharing with you some more of our beautiful Western Australian wild flowers. I hope you enjoy them. They are all quite different.
This one is the Blue Leschenaultia.
A Eucalypt.....
This is the Southern Native Rose - I think it looks a bit like a Christmas bell....
A lastly - the dramatic Sturt Desert Pea.....

Hi Jill, thanks for the warm thoughts. We are in the midst of freezing rain since last night here in Montana. Great set of lovely flowers, I especially like the last three flowers all are very unique. You don't see them around these parts. Merry Christmas.

Cool flowers! I like them all, but the eucalypt is my favorite - it is so sharp and simple. Thanks for sharing!

thankyou everyone for your comments - I very much appreciate them. I am so lucky in Western Australia to have such a variety of wildflowers to photograph - it has become a passion. I like the simplicty of the second one - and I actually have it as the background on my photography business card. Thankyou everyone once again - a blessings for the coming season.

Choice pictures Jill. I simply love seeing what other countries have different to us! The Sturt Desert Pea looks freaky! All the best to you and your family.

Jill, how wonderful these are! You have no idea what a treat it is to see flowers on such a cold gloomy day here! Your photos are beautiful, and I love seeing flowers I've never seen before. My favorite might be the eucalypt -- wonderful simple composition, with perfect focus and beautiful bokeh. They're all so well done!

thank you everyone. I am so glad I brightened up your day. The Sturt Desert Pea is stunning to see in the wild - it is a trailing plant typically found in our Pilbara - our first sight of them trailing over the red dirt of the road embankment was amazing.
