Default San Diego - Kelby 7 Point System Testing

Shot taken with a point and shoot

Here was a picture I took a few years ago that I loved the capture but the colors were not eye poping. I put it thought the 7 point system the other day and was very happy with the result.

Gorgeous colors in that shot. Very nice work, especially with a PnS! TFS

I've never heard of Kelby, but a cursory search of the internet reveals that he's got some formula for using PS, I guess? I assume it's how to use all the elements of a photograph to make it sing, like adjusting exposure, saturation, contrast, vibrance, etc to all complement each other?

Nicely done. I've read about the 7-point system for editing, but haven't really done much with the reading. Looks like it worked out well for you

If I remember correctly, Scott Kelby was/is the editor of Photoshop Magazine.

Yes, you are all correct. It's Scott Kelby President of the NAPP. I was given a copy of his 7 Point System for Photoshop. I have found it really helpful since I'm not a huge fan of over post processing. Of course HDR is a little different. It does help in underexposed pictures and helping bring out light and color. I recommend the book highly. I copied the link to the book on Amazon
