Default Macro Images using Extension Tubes.

So I decided to try some more "Macro Photography" using my cheap and cheerful extension tubes but wanted to see what I could do with them outside in the snow and ice. I have a small tree there which is full of buds and tiny flowers and I don't think the poor thing realises it's winter. Anyway here are a couple of images for you. If you would like to see them slightly larger have a look on my Flickr page.

Nice work, David. I haven't tried macro shots yet at all and I have been thinking about trying out some extension tubes. You may have just inspired me to give it a shot. Thanks for sharing these.

Mike

Thank you gents for your kind words, I have to say I really do love the world of "Macro" the tubes I have I got really cheap from Hong Kong off Ebay. I do realise that they are no substitute for a nice macro lens but for now they do the trick I hope. Looking forward Glyn and Mike so seeing what you come up with, if it is anything like your normal images we are in for a treat.
Oh it's snowing again. Thats the UK grinding to a halt again
David.

What beautiful colors -- just amazing to see the ice on the flowers! Looks like you're really having fun with those extension tubes! Thanks for sharing these with us.

Nice work. I remember back in the old days, when I used to be a photographer* I had a set of macro bellows. A sort of adjustable macro extension tube**. Put the old nifty fifty on one end and the FTN body on the other and adjusted the length to suit. Good times, good times indeed.

Lovely shots, especially the icy flower ones. Thanks for sharing.

*I'm getting back there, thanks, in part to my DPS friends.

**Looked like this, but now they cost nearly a thousand dollars!

Congratulations Dave, I'd say you were pretty up close and personal with these fine examples of a difficult technique

Once again thanks for the encouragement and kind words. I was lucky, about 45 minutes after these were taken the sky clouded over and we have had snow ever since, must be around 4 inches or so out there now. Man our weather is so odd at the moment
Thanks again.
