Default My sisters dog, Teeka, in the lavender

Hi all,

My sisters English Staffy stopped for a rest in the lavender in our front yard. Although it looks quite peaceful and relaxed, she was actually a bit crazy. I managed to quickly shoot this before she ran away crazily.

I was planning to print this on a canvas for my sister, so I applied the Orton Effect to give it a dreamy/painted look. I ended up changing my mind and using a different shot, but was still quite happy with how it came out.

There are more photos of her here.

The aromatherapy fruitcakes followers will tell you that lavender is a calming scent. Lovely shot, although I'm not too enamoured of the huge lens flare. TFS.

Thanks all for your comments.

I kind of liked the lens flare, I thought it added to the warmth and gave the idea of a warm summer afternoon.

Conversely though, I can see how it is distracting, particularly as it goes right through her eye.
