Default First Shots Nikon sb600 flash

My first two shots using sb600. I'm new at this. I always used the built in flash. I've got alot to learn on Nikon CLS how to use these strobe's light's. There's so much that you can do with these. Pic's taken with a diffuser on camera manual mode. First pic No#1 It took about three try's to get it wright on flowers what I have here. My no# 2 pic is off camera i-ttl mode on the floor of my pet macaw PEEKABOO. I love this bird. Funny pet. Great bird. But what difference it makes using these flash lights.JIM_4622

Nice work. Very good composition on both and the flash really brings out the colors.
You should be getting ready for some great snow shots coming your way today.

Beautiful photos! Peekaboo is such a wonderful model -- I love that bright eye, and the way you've captured the colors and textures of his feathers so very nicely. Thanks for sharing these with us, and I'll look forward to seeing more!

it's fun exploring your first flash isn't it?....i've come to the point now that i shoot more often with it than without.....

i must say your first shots are far better than mine were.....

Great shots, Jim. I love the parrot. Not to plug anything, but the best resource I've found for Nikon's lighting systems is their DVD on Creative Lighting. It's an hour and a half chock full of excellent info. It's $24 from Amazon. I've got the SB800 and SB900 and use them together seamlessly. It'd be $24 well spent!

PS...ditto Peep's comments: my first few looked like Polaroid instant shots!! LOL

Great shots! TFS
