Beauty light-ish kinda

Experimenting with a beauty light type setup today. I was attempting to get the classic butterfly lighting but of course my 3 year old would not accommodate. The last picture gives you an idea of the setup used.

i've been notablly incorrect in the past so it is not as if i'm forging new territory ...but I would think the set up more closely resembles clamshell lighting...

Thanks for the information Zona. I am clearly not sure exactly what to call it. Clamshell lighting would make sense. I know that I have seen this type of lighting refereed to as beauty lighting or glamour lighting.

Well, your photos clearly show the mood he was in! What a beautiful little boy -- I love the light on his hair, and the detail of those wonderful eyelashes in the last. Looks like you will have fun playing with the new lighting set up and your sweet little model.

Thank you very much. He is a wonderful child but not the most patient model.
