Default New Monochrome Photos

I've been experimenting with black and white photos, comments are much appreciated. Please note that I am a complete novice to this (I have only had my camera for 3 weeks) so keep the criticism constructive!!

Hello there ... you'll get nothing but praises from the good folks here .. this is a very interesting set .. I like the water reflections on the first photo .. too funny on the second .. there is no way anyone can mistaken tree/trunk as a live one ... very nice

Hello Narmour and welcome to a great site for help and care. You have certainly hit the road running for a "complete novice". Your captures here portray a potential for making the ordinary look extraordinary, and the reflection shot is great. I hope you stay with us and allow us to watch you progress as you keep clicking and posting. God bless. PAUL

Thank you very much Howard, the first bridge is a stunning subject so is hard to take a bad photo... when I saw the bra hanging from the bridge I laughed out loud and instantly wondered how it got there and who is running around without it now... and the tree trunk was obviously marked by a forester and I just thought about how I could enhance the theme of death by removing the colour. It's probably my favourite.

Thanks again for the positive comments!!!

Thank you also Paul, I think I can see a style in which I want my photos to progress.. as you say making the ordinary look extraordinary. Although there is nothing ordinary about a bra hanging from a bridge!!! I certainly will post more shots as I do them although as I say criticism is most welcome as it's the only way you learn.

Narmour, welcome to DPS! I really like the reflection of the birdge in your first shot. Well done on all of these. Keep shooting, you're doing well and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your posts.
