I am just starting out taking my photography seriously more than just a hobby and I would love to get some input from you guys. I took this on a shoot for a co-worker and edited it in photshop elements. Thanks for any input.

Nice shot, I personally find the background a bit distracting. I would keep it in color or so it all sepia or black and white. The selective coloring is not my favorite, personally.

The pose and kiss looks great though. Great job and I like the composition.

The selective coloring was the clients idea and they love it. I wasn't the happiest with it either, but they were happy. I was thinking of using the original in my portfolio, but not sure yet. Thanks for your comment.

I think the slant on the background is the distracting part for me..but i love the pose..and id probably do a few different backgrounds and options and give them the choice...after all its up to what the individual likes even though at times, we the photographer, might not agree.

Its a good start, bu tI agree that the background is distracting. I like the pose, but not the soft nature of the shot. That's just me thogh.

Nice shot. The coloring is done well...nice and diffuse. But the success is in the eye of the client, regardless of what WE think. If it's for them, then they decide, even if it breaks all the rules. If you want real and detailed critique, try posting it in the Critique My Shot section...there are no holds barred in there. In any case, good luck with your new endeavor! TFS, and welcome to DPS!!

I agree about the background, however I love this shot...and I can see why they would...you caught some real feeling in this one and I love it.

I agree to about the cluttered background and slant, but as was said, it was for the client and if they like it, 'nuff said. Good work and good luck!
