Congratulations on your new camera! Welcome to DPS. I hope you will enjoy your experience here. It's a great place to learn and meet fellow shutterbugs! The "starburst" in your shot is so cool, especially the one on the corner of the building. Your lines, especially the diagonal wall, are so pleasing, leading your eye to the point of interest--the beautiful tree. Very nice first post. I hope you come back soon!

Thank you for the nice compliments! It's nice to be here to learn and share. I've looked around this site for about a year now, but never posted because I was feeling pretty self conscious about my photos. Especially after seeing other photographer's work! Silly...time to just take chances...and learn!

Hi, Ruth, and welcome to DPS! For me, counting pixels always works better than counting sheep, and it's always good to scratch that new camera itch regardless of the time of day. Looking forward to seeing more of your posts. You've broken the ice, time to jump in with full gusto!!

Lovely photo! Great composition, and I love the way it looks so warm and inviting, even knowing it must be cold! Thanks for sharing this one with us.

Gorgeous shot, Ruth. Excellent composition. The rail is well placed...it draws you right into the shot and drops you off at that beautiful tree! Welcome to DPS, and thanks for sharing!!
