Default Water in the Desert

There is nothing more refreshing than water in the desert, except perhaps a late afternoon walk with a good friend, sharing the pleasures of water in the desert.

A few days ago, Linda (lindyannajones) and I rambled along the creek in Sabino Canyon, on the northeast side of Tucson. Here are just a few photos from that delightful afternoon. If you had been with us, you would have noticed the clean desert fragrance, the warm sun and the cool breeze, and best of all, the wonderful silence.

"What would the world be, once bereft of wet and wildness?
Let them be left, O let them be left, wildness and wet;
Long live the weeds and the wilderness yet." -- Gerard Manley Hopkins

Thanks, Linda, for all of the shared joys of that day .....

Beautiful collection Helen. Gorgeous lighting, and I love the reflections and textures you've captured. All are composed beautifully. I especially love the last one for its lighting & subtle colors.

Nice captures Helen, I really like the first two with the reflections, the water in that first shot looks like a mirror thanks for sharing, cheers Steve.

Helen, that looks like a really pleasurable and serene walk. Those are 4 quality images. I like the puffy cloud reflecting in your second.

What a beautiful peaceful place for you and Linda to stroll around. I like the tree reflection in the pool of water in the first shot and the sky in the last shot is so colourful.
