All fantastic shots, Jamie!! No wonder you're a mod!! LOL Thanks for sharing the EXIF on the basketball shot. I'm going to do some lady basketball soon and was wondering which lens I should use. I'll probably keep my D3 outfitted with the Nikkor 85 f/1.4. I was worried about the 85 not being enough to get me in tight enough, but you've shown you can get right in the action by hanging out underneath the basket! TFS!!

All three are wonderful images. I really like how you captured the symbolic gesture of the gloved hands on the casket in #1... very poignant.

That first shot is wonderful. It shows the poignancy of the day without actually showing the faces of the subjects.

A lot of people love the 85/1.4 for basketball, my only concern would be AF speed. I don't have experience with that lens directly, so I couldn't really say myself. With the 70-200s, getting on the corner works really well, but with the 85 I'd probably try to get in a little closer the basket. Women's games are usually a little easier, because you've generally got more freedom to move around. For SU at least, you have to stay put during the men's games.

It wasn't even so much to mask faces. I have wider shots, but they aren't as good. I thought the covered badges drew the eye nicely as a secondary focal point, they aren't as prominent in the other frames.

All are excellent, as usual! Your first is my favorite. What a great composition, the hands on the casket symbolizing one last touch.
