Default My (Formerly?) Reluctant Model

In the past, my daughter has always hated having her photo taken. So, trying to get a decent Christmas card photo was always a challenge to say the least.

This year, though, for some unknown reason, she was much more willing. We were done in about 30 minutes, with no stress, frustration or rolling of the eyes by my daughter. I don't know how long this will last, but I'll take it!

This is the one we used for our Christmas card. (The white shirt at the bottom didn't show up in the actual card.)

Same photo, but converted and cropped differently:

This was my wife's favorite, but she was outvoted this time:

And this one was completely spontaneous. I had no idea she was going to strike this pose, and we were just lucky that my wife had the flash pointed in more or less the right direction when I quickly pressed the shutter:

Thanks for looking.

I LOVE The last one. And can you explain your lighting. I have such a hard time with it when I am outside, Inside, I think Iam OK. What do you use for outdoor stuff?

Hi Chip, I'm remembering the swim meet shots and can't believe how much Kate has changed. She's a beauty! Her willingness to cooperate is shown the smile in her eyes--especially noticable in the black and white. Your shots have the perfect lighting to reveal the roses in her cheeks, too. The last is my favorite...although...it is time to buckle up!
