Default Graffitti Bridge

This is the famous Graffitti Bridge on 17th Ave. in Pensacola (headed away from the beach).

PP in Photomatix from one RAW file.

Wow Heather, that is one amazing work of art. I suppose it has become such an icon now, that the authorities are letting it stay. Thanks for showing it to us. PAUL

Til death do we art! Love it. Shame about the miscreants that started it, but as Paul says, I guess it's a work of art in its own right now! Great shot.

Lovely colourful photo, Heather, but sorry, why is the bridge famous? It has just been tagged all over, there are no graffiti artworks on it. The line "Till death do we art" is poetic, but just scrawled, not artistically done. Not having a go, just confused.

Hey Just Jim:

For generations of Pensacolians, the train trestle that passes over 17th Avenue has been a canvas of expression for those who dare disobey the law. Many conservatives in Pensacola have complained about the graffiti, but many see it as a something that gives our town character. The trestle is owned by the CSX Railroad company which is under federal jurisdiction (which is why the City of Pensacola can not touch the graffiti).

And, as you can see by another photographers photo- the graffitti changes constantly...making it a living piece of art!

Love the contrast between the vibrant, bright forground and the dark soft focus background.

Great picture.

Great cap, Pink. Lots going on in that shot. Great exposure and color given what looks be an overcast day! TFS
