Cool Scotch Mist

Two pictures from Sunday in the fog.

The Hamills 3

The Hamills 1

This is the Hamills on the White Cart in Paisley. The building used to be a thread mill. The Watermill hotel is on the right.

Very nice, Bill. I love that second one. Very hazy and misty in the distance, but very sharp and clear in the forground. I love that shot!! TFS

Bill, I was drinking in your first one, and my eyes fell down to the falls in the bottom of the picture, and I thought, Oh my! Excellent! I also love the composition of your second. The curving path makes it a fine image instead of a well done snapshot.

The fog really creates such a sense of quiet and softness. I especially love the second one -- the curve of the path and the sharpness of the grass -- a truly beautiful photo. Thanks for sharing it.

Lovely shots Bill! I too love the 2nd for the stark contrast between the foreground and background, as well as the splashes of colour in the foreground.

Och* it's a lovely soft morning, is it no? Great light for photography, but it looks miserable for the photographer. Delightful images, both of them. TFS.

*I was born in Garthamlock, so I can actually say this!

Thanks Jim, the mist was moving all the time and I was lucky it sort of cleared before I took the shot

Thank you, it was what we call freezing fog, you could feel the droplets as you were enveloped, really cold and damp.

Thank you, I was surprised at the the colour as it was quite gray all around.
