Default Apple of his father's eye !

Framed this family that survives on farming on one of my photo excursion outside the "outsourcing city" Bangalore....

Apple of his father's eye

Concentrated on highlighting the boy's face. Does that appeal or should I make the family member's faces bright ?

No, if you were after a portrait of the boy, I think that it works. The rest of the family are the background to the boy, where he comes from, as much as the landscape part of the image is the land that he comes from.

Unless it really, really means something to the subject or to the image, I try not to let portrait subjects wear clothes with words or images on them. Not always possible, but just something you might want to think about.

Thanks for sharing.

I like this pic....especially how the boy is upfront and the rest of the family is behind going about their own business....very nice job.

Thanks Just Jim & Angella
One of the main reasons for B&W is to avoid the distraction from the wordings...

PraZ, I really like the way the boy's face is highlighted, as well as the composition of the photo. It's very effective to see him in the context of his family The lettering on the t-shirt doesn't bother me -- I actually think it helps to make the photo look very informal and natural. Thanks for sharing this one with us.
