Default A random bunch of photos

I can't take a descent photo at the moment, everything is so brown dry and uninteresting, so I've gone back a month or two to share some of the photos I have missed showing you.
Here is an Echidna taking a walk through my yard.

a Noisy Minor having a feed from the nectar of a Xanthorrhoea flower spike

and a rose picture. My roses at the moment look more like dried flowers on the bush.

Lovely shots, Michelle. I think everywhere in this wide brown land is, well, brown. We've had some rain down here, but nowhere near enough.

I love the Noisy Miner shot, great lines, lovely light and clever DoF. TFS

Thanks Jim,
Where I live is very bad, we have had no sring-summer rain and everything is just desolate. I have never known it to be so dry but I suppose I have only lived out here for twelve years. I'm finding it very depressing though.

That critter in the first pic....is that a type of porcipine or hedgehog? I use to have African Hedgehogs that looks somewhat like that...but can't really tell the size. Anyway he is adorable. I love that you have different names or almost the same critters....we have red ladybugs. I love the color of the rose...very pretty. Your birds are also pretty. Have to agree with you on the situation right now...everything is brown and dead here also....only real difference is everything here always looks brown and dead....

This is a great set, Michele! Really fun to see what an echidna looks like. And the second one, such a beautiful, warm, dreamy bokeh. Wonderful!

Thanks Ella, our Echidnas are a bit smaller than the other animals, and very, very distant relations, they are actully marsupials which mean their young come form eggs, the eggs are hatched in their pouch and are feed by mothers milk untill they start to grow spines, then they are put into a burrow and feed by mum until they are old enough to look after themselves.
