Smile B&W Underwater Portrait

Who needs color?

Do you think this type of photo being in black and white instead of color gives it a different feel than a typical underwater photograph?

I like the feeling the B&W gives this shot. It is a little more ambiguous in nature, and I like that.

I think that B&W gives it a different feeling for sure. It's a bit more dreamy this way. I think that 'ambiguous' is a good description. It's a really nice shot and I'm sure it looks great in color also.

I think it is a spectacular shot, and would look equally good in B&W or colour. The sharp focus on the eyes while the hands blur and the hair floats around.. it is really a fabulous image. Well done! (Maybe you could post the colour version so we could compare?)

in this picture i think can make my focus of interest to the face, suppose if this in colour maybe the swimsuit colour may distract my focus of interest, thanks for sharing

There really is no comparison. In the original version, there is not enough contrast. Add the to the fact that everything is very aqua-blue, it wasn't a great shot. But after zapping the saturation, a great photo emerged. Thanks for the comments!
