Default Scarlet Ibis

Scarlet Ibis are one of our national birds, usually they are deep in the swamp aorund this time nesting. I was able to capture this set at the edge of the Caroni swamp, a little too far for a sharp focus, but still worthy of sharing. I intend to post many more in the upcoming season when there will be thousands all around. Hope you enjoy these in the mean time.

Michael looks like the Caroni swamp is going to offer many photo ops for you in the coming season. A couple good shots with high contrast from the bright red to the different greens, along with some reflection.

Hi Michael - they are certainly very colorful ... and with their reflections in the water, it certainly adds beauty to their environment ... very nice

Michael, these are so beautiful, I'd give a lot to be able to use my Rocket Launcher there, I've never see these before. Great Captures, I like the reflections especially in the 2nd one.
Thanks for sharing these
Michael.

Beautiful shots my friend, right now birds are far and few between, maybe they all went to see you for a while. Keep up the great work, I look forward to more from the swamp, love the birds with the reflections.

Yes they are, they get their colour from the food they eat.
