I took these shot's early this morning. I tried to get this hawk to fly, so I could get him in flight. NOPE. He just sat their laughing at me. There's not a cloud in site. All gray looking snow or freezing rain clouds. So here's some stills. Maybe he's wings are frozen or wet. Shot with a Nikon D-300 300 f/4 AF-S

In some ways, you were pretty darn lucky...most are praying that they'll stay right there so you can get a good pose.....I would have loved your situation....Every bird that I have ever wished would stay always flies before I am ready...damn birds

Yes I was lucky. But I was ready.The camera was in continuous mode.This bird just didn't care. He just turned on that branch, He knows I was there. I just clicked away. I was about 35 to 40 yards from the tree he was in. Plus, about 60ft up. I had to crop the pics to show detail. Dam I need that 1.4 teleconverter. I couldn't get any closer because of a fence. But I think the shot's came out have-way decent. THANKS for stopping by everybody
