Default Nikki Sue Nikon's Word of the Day #11 - Fog

The muse has returned and we're sharing another of Nikki Sue's words of the day. On a recent rip to Tennessee, we crossed Newfound Gap at the Tennessee-NC border and found an icy wonderland of frozen fog.

Softly slinking, creeping upward
Surreptitious in its silent march
Suddenly all things held captive
Shrouded in a frosty grip of ice

Crystalline shells of frozen beauty
Dressed in a cloak of white
Deposited as a quiet reminder
of God's grand design

~Mike~

Mike, beautifully captures ice and snow! I like how it is layered and looks wind blown, especially on the 3rd shot. The 4th shot is simply gorgeous Mike good work!

Hi Mike - can you get any closer? ... whoa!!! ...that first photo just blows me away ... I noticed you're going all chroma-less with these photos ... they look very nice and I just love the trees branches on the last image ... it really has a holiday feel to it .. outstanding presentation

Mike, these are awesome! You've wonderfully captured the geometric shapes of ice. The last shot looks like it should be on a holiday card. Beautiful.

Wish I was there to see that! You should make large prints and attach your verse to it...would be really nice I would think

Excellent series Mike, I really like the windswept look of the ice on the branches. A truly beautiful winter scene.

Welcome back, dear muse! You have put a big smile on my face! "Crystilline shells of frozen beauty" is a perfect description of each of your photos. I love the fan-like patterns in the dance between evergreen and snow in your first shot. The quality of light is perfect--especially the line of light on your third shot. These are all delightful! I celebrate your muse!
