Default Newbie [Be kind!]

I've had my dslr (a 350d) for the past year but have only started finding the time to use it.
I'll try and take all the C&C you can throw at me

Thanks.

Forgot to add (the edit doesn't seem to work for me?) I placed it here as the critique my shot threads required them to be categorised and I didn't really want to make 3 separate threads for these simple photos

Hello Thomas, and welcome to DPS. I hope you stay with us, keep posting your shots and learn and grow as I am doing. It's a great plce to be. As for your shots, you are having an exposure problem by not using your facilities wisely. What you need to do is post each shot on the Critique thread and INCLUDE YOUR EXIF (i.e. Aperture setting, shutter speed, ISO etc. etc. and ask something specific that you would like help with, then we will be able to help you much more specifically. I will watch out for your future posts with interest. God bless. PAUL

Hi Thomas, welcome to DPS! I would agree with Paul, if you want critique there is a section for that. I think you will find this a wonderful site, I have learned so much about composition and technique just by looking at other posts! You might also want to try a book, there are some really good books on exposure and lighting. Mostly just have fun with it, looking forward to more posts from you!

Thank you for your kind words
Preacher- I will ry, but I am a member of so many forums and have so many hobbies! But seems like a great place to stick around. Thought my exif would've been included, odd. Will have to take a look on my windows machine. Could you expand on the exposure problem? I think I may be missing a trick there!
Bascott- Will try to get a few ebooks- saving up for a few new lenses at the moment, so buying dead trees is a cost I don't want to incur!
Thanks guys, will start a C&C thread or two.

I'll join in adding my welcome too. DPS is filled with kind people -- I've learned so much here from seeing the photos of others and reading comments. I love the second photo, looking up at the buildings from such a wonderful angle. I'll look forward to seeing more!

i do enjoy taking pictures from different angles, and will add some of my faourites later.

Thanks again for the kindness (L)
