Default Happy Holidays Photography

Almost all of my shots are strictly nature oriented other then those that come from family events. I thought it would be nice to get some festive shots so I practiced with our Christmas tree! Hardly any holiday is as infectious as Christmas, right? Here are two of my favorites:

I didn't realize until after the fact that both shots have pretty much the exact same composition, but oh well. Love the site and thought I would share .

Glad you did stkr. The first shot is a real Christmas card winner, with great lights bokeh. Making me feel like Christmas is really upon us. Thanks. PAUL

Thumbs up Great shots- tips?

These are great shots! Can you share any tips or information on how you took them? Did you use a macro lens?

Thanks!

Wow thanks you all.

For bwex: My focal length was set at 55mm, I used an aperture of F/6.3 and my shutter speed was 32/10 seconds. I set my camera up on the tripod and tried out different settings until I was pleased with the outcome. Unfortunately I cannot remember what white balance setting I used and I'm not seeing it in the photograph's details. I didn't use flash though. The lighting would have been too harsh for how close I was to the ornament. Thanks again and hope that helps .
