Talking Stuck

I learned this technique in an online photoshop class by Aaron Nace, and I finally tried it out yesterday. Turned out kinda funny, so I thought I would share!

It is really quite easy...just a matter of taking out the shadows and putting them on top of the clone stamped area, and you look like you are growing out of the background.

That's a cool technique. I always thought you were one with nature and this picture proves it!

Cool picture. Can you explain in a little more detail how you did this? Can you just take two shots and then bring the base layer over the layer w/the subject in it?

Thanks everyone

Sure...as far as this photo goes, I used channels to select the shadows, then put them on a new layer....then under that layer I used the clone stamp for the tree texture, but on top of that is still the layer with the shadows... so then it looks a bit like your blending into the background.

One tip I would say is to try and use a photo with strong shadows, as it helps sell the effect a bit better
