Arrow Weekend in Calgary - VI - Away from the crowd

Me and my friend went for a walk exploring some
secluded parts of the city around the
Princess Island area and banks of Elbow River.
It was extremely sunny and quite warm but only till
we reached Elbow river.
This area was covered with trees and felt very cold,
i was wondering why am I shivering when it was so bright out there.
I went very close to the water to take some pictures
of the pebbles in the river and I stepped on water and it "cracked"
yes.. it carcked. That's when i realized it was so cold
water was frozen on both edges of the river on the surface
about 2 ft wide and water was flowing from below, no wonder i was cold.
It was very strange for me water freezing in such warm
climate and it was crystal clear.

I always love your threads, I love the commentaries you give, there's a story & to every thread! This is no exception, & I love seeing Calgary through your photos! My favorite is the park scene with the lovely little bridge in the middle. Love the wide angle you shot it at.,

Hahahha ... That's good description of Canada. Not sure of leftovers but yes i remember there is a small structure with a fountain attached to what looks like an amphitheater called Olympic Plaza, they even have tram station by that name.

Thanks Sox, i've look at others threads, there are some good writers on DPS, i cant match them in anyway so i try to just describe some background which adds some sense to the picture though people say a picture is worth thousand words. And even I've a place to look back and recollect the memories.
