I was snowed in this past Monday and I started taking shots of the the other side of my Sierra Foothills canyon with my D90 & 80-400mm lens. It was mostly clowdy but towards sunset I began gett bursts of sunlight. The 2 pictures were taken about 15 minutes apart but the "golden" one demonstrates the power of using sunset light for most pictures.

Gorgeous scene and captured very well. And yes the sun on either horizon is the best time to try and use it because it is a much softer light.

Welcome to DPS, I really like both of your shots, The 2nd is more colorful, but the 1st one works very well. What a wonderful Cabin in the woods. I'd love to spend some time there with my feet up and a Blazing Fire going!!!
Thanks for sharing these Michael.

These are really cool. I love the comparison of the different lighting. I like both of them.

Amazing changes in just 15 minutes. That's why we call it the 'Golden Hour'. There's another one in the morning, apparently, but I'm usually still in bed for that one!
