Firstly, I would like to thank all of my friends here at DPS for your companionship. As I mentioned in a previous post, you have all been companions without equal!! This thread comes a little sooner than the 24 hour limit, but since I have to crash soon for a 3am wake up call, I felt it necessary to make one more post to say goodbye to my birth land, and thank you to all of my DPS friends...and a trip well taken! Here are a few random shots from around the German countryside. Thanks so much for joining me on this grand journey!
Courage amongst the elements (this is going in my gallery, and on my wall...probably one of my top 5 favorite shots) Taken in Schaftlarn, Germany, on the way to Zugspitze (tallest mountain in Germany). I saw this tree and asked Rheinhardt if he wouldn't mind pulling over. Being a photographer as well (albeit dormant since his wife's very recent passing) he gladly obliged. I'm glad he did!! ![]() Farmhouse - this was a cozy little farmhouse in Eching, Germany, just outside of Munich. This provided quite the olfactory sensation, I must say. Be thankful you can't smell it through DPS!! However, it smelled like strawberries to me!! ![]() Odd place for a cigarette machine --- odd indeed. Walking down a seemingly deserted road, I stumbled upon this randomly placed cigarette machine, oddly mounted on a wall. No rhyme or reason why... ![]() ...and because after having Martha preview this shot for me without tossing her cyber-cookies, I decided to post an SP of me in my hotel---after business had concluded, and I had nothing else to do. It was raining buckets in Munich, so I had to find something to keep me busy!! See you stateside, my friends!! It's been a wonderful journey!

Hi there Jim.. First of all appologies. I have been with you all the way and see all your amazing captures especially of the Alps. They were truly wonderful captures. My appologies are for the lack of commenting on them all. I really did enjoy all of them. The tree in this post is outstanding and worthy of any wall. I love the second two as well, but hey buddy. That Self portrait is stunning. I love the work you did on it and you may have made me have a go at it myself. Thanks for sharing your Germany trip with us Jim. It really has been a pleasure.
Dave.

Jim, thanks for sharing these as well as your other shots from your trip. I absolutely love your work with B&W! I know it was quite an adventure for you just to get to your final destination but all of the captures you shared looks like your trip was well worth it. Thanks for sharing these as well.

Jim, all four shots are amazingly done, the tree shot is priceless, just grand! The quant little farmhouse looks like a old homestead (probably was,is) The cig machine is very oddly placed, what a find very unique. Last but least and I think is probably the best is your self portrait, it so fri..in clear and crisp, like the treatment, well done! Hope you have a good trip back and thanks for sharing the journey. I almost feel like I took the trip with ya. Adios!

Very nice shots, Jim, and I can see why your first is an all time favorite. The lighting is perfect and I like the milky look of the clouds. I'd hang it on the wall as well!! Great job on the rest and your SP is extraordinary.
