I like the frame within a frame, but have to say the iron on the left side of the image is a little distracting. Welcome to DPS and looking foward to seeing more work.

Hi Hoewellh and welcome to the DPS community. I hope you enjoy yourself here and learn lots about your great hobby. You have opened with a fine shot. You have framed your subject within the frame of the shot and caused the viewer to look along the grain of the seat and towards the tulips. A cleaver perspective. Keep clicking and posting. I look forward to seeing more of your work. PAUL

Welcome to dps, this shot is very interesting and I would say it could be the topic of many arguable conversations. In one way the perspective and composition is good...shooting through the bench giving it a framed look. On the other hand some may differ. The shot has good contrast and texture also. Thanks for posting it, I think it may raise some interesting comments.

Hi and welcome to DPS! Very good first post! I like the colors and textures, but agree with the other post, the arm of the bench is a bit distracting.

Hmm. I'm wondering if you are aware of the hynotic appeal of benches? They have a way of highjacking you and have been known to pull people away from things like class. Your first and most admirable post is a great example of taking the familar and giving the viewer a new angle. It doesn't shout "Bench" but it hints while showing off these beautiful flowers. Welcome to DPS. It's a fine place to grow as a photographer. Suggestion. Take risks! You can belly flop here and it's okay!

Welcome to DPS....I like this photo....especially the way you used the bench as a frame. I am no expert either, so I don't feel like I should give advice, but I do like this photo. Thanks for sharing and keep posting.
