These are beautiful. Great light and catchlights, too. And I really like the pose in the 2nd one.

Glen, these are wonderful. I especially love the last one -- that female cardinal just shines in the beautiful lighting, and the bokeh is beautiful.

Great set of Cardinal pics, very sharp and colorful. I think I would call the last on my fave, good job

Very Crisp and Clear Captures! Cardinals are such lovely birds, I used to watch them at our bird feeders when I lived in Arizona, they were a seasonal visitor there.
Did you use the 300mm f/2.8 on these? I'm going to buy that lens "This Year"!!!!!!!

Thanks everyone for the kind comments.

The 1st two used the 300mm f2.8 + 1.4x Tele and the last two used the 100-400mm @400mm. The 300 f2.8 is an amazing lens you'll be very pleased with it. It has the reputation of being the sharpest lens canon makes and i'd have to agree, at least the ones i've used ;-)
