Default What's good for the goose...

Dropped by one of my favorite shooting spots near my home today to re-capture a winter version of my Windmill shot. While I was there, I ran across a large gathering of geese hanging out at the golf course. I'm guessing there were over 1000 of them in this one area. They made quite a noisy exit when I came strolling by! As soon as I left, they all flew right back to the same spot. I managed to capture a few shots. I'm not "thrilled" with them, but they'll have to do for today.

Best viewed full size. Enjoy!

Awesome Gary, love the winter scenery. I love the first one with its great depth of field especially. And the last one with that beautiful winter blue sky is terrific. Can't wait to see more of your wintery scenes out there.

Thanks everyone! I debated whether or not to switch to HD Video on the camera as the ruckus of all of them taking flight was pretty amazing! They took off in groups, so it took about 20-30 seconds before they all went airborn as I walked towards them! I almost felt bad disturbing them, but they all flew right back as soon as I walked away. Man, that was a lot of honking!!

Very nice shots. Weird how they seem to be in sync all the time.

Whenever I see flocks of geese, I always wish I was in my blind with my Mossberg. Mmmm... goose stew in orange sauce.
