Default Venus and the Crescent Moon Conjunction at Terrigal - 17th Sep

Hi all

Back on the 17th September 2009, there was a lovely dawn conjunction of Venus and the Crescent Moon. I woke up early and was greeted to some beautiful clear skies, so I headed out to Terrigal to capture the pairing.

The data has been sitting on my hard drive for almost 3 months waiting to be processed, but I finally managed to find some time to finish them off. And I’m glad I did – I’m happy with how they turned out.

All images were taken with my Canon 20D and Sigma 17-70mm lens, on a fixed tripod. Most images are 3-exposure bracketed shots, tone-mapped (HDR) using Photomatix, and processed using Photoshop CS2.

Thanks for looking.

Nice captures, I would not have guessed they were HDR, well done!

Thanks guys - that means a lot, because with my HDR I always try to ensure they don't *look* HDR. I don't like the overprocessed, cartoony look either.

Thanks again for your comments.
