Default Deer

I got lucky and showed up at a park in town last week on a day that had about a dozen or so deer. This was my third day with my Canon Rebel T1i and I had just learned how to use the multi-shot mode, which allowed me to capture some great pictures. I'm amazed at the image detail after cropping out so much of the picture.

Deer

Lens Cannon 55-250mm f/4-5.6

Another image I took at the same place with the same lens. I wish I had a polarized filter on that day, but oh well.

What do you guys think?

Holy behemoth, Batman, what a rack. If that deer's antlers hadn't had that distinctive "white-tail sweep" I would've thought it was an elk. Great shot of a huge and beautiful animal. Did I count six points correctly?

Yeah, my wife and I thought it was an elk at first too. I have more pictures of this guy with his head in different angles, I will find find out how many points he has (or even post another pic) after I get home from work.

I do have more pictures of this day on my facebook profile, but I had not cropped the images before uploading them so after the facebook shrinking of the photo you can't see much.

Great shot. He's intimidating from side-on, I can't imagine what I'd think if he was looking at me front on.
TFS.
