Default window shopping with the camera

I had to kill a little time waiting for my wife to come, so I browsed the business windows of winchester and took pictures of Christmans decorations through the windows. The 1st shot is of the City courthouse tower/spire. The two abstracts are of christmas lights on trees......I just manipulated the focus and apertures to get these type of shots...The 3rd is that of a x-mas decoration display......nothing great, fanciful or inspiring....but it was fun to just play around without expectations

Hi Patrick, I like the way you captured the lights in the second and last shots. I've got to try this soon.

Great Set Patrick! I really like the Bokeh shots, you did well on those and the Christmas display is very nice as well. Interesting perspective on the Tower.
Thanks for sharing these
Michael.

I don't like shopping for the sake of shopping but I love to shop when I intend to spend!

Two factual pictures, two abstract pictures, I like the light around the base of the courthouse clock, and Christmas decorations always look good.
I like the abstract pictures and the effects and its measure of your development because I'm not certain whether this time last year you would have taken them

I suppose it is an exploratory growth thing......I certainly wouldn't have thought to manipulate an image last year......heck, I had never touched a dslr before last February......So I haven't even hit my first anniversary with it yet....I first started shooting regularly last October with a point and shoot so I am just past my 1st anniversary for photography in general......I have used these forums and posts to learn and get ideas......so here's to another year!
