Default 1st Day In Munich...mundane pics, but Alps tomorrow!

...so, I finally got to Munich...a bittersweet journey to be sure!!! Check my previous posts to see the turmoil I endured!!

Anyway, I'm finally in Munich. When I got to my client's site, I was quickly wisked away to a traditional German ceremony of the "breaking of the ceramic." Apparently, when two Germans are married, they are required to destroy ceramic plates. The purpose, I'm told, is to review the pictures afterward. Whoever's hand is higher in the air, basically wears the pants in the family!

Today was spent working, so there were limited picture opportunities. However, Sunday is all sightseeing in downtown Munich, and weather permitting, we'll be headed up to the Alps!!

Here's a picture of a couple bikes outside a market where I had to find some toothpaste after mine was confiscated by TSA security. Needless to say, I was in dire need. However, when I went to buy the toothpaste, I was only ASSUMING that the tube of cream next to the toothbrushes was, in fact, toothpaste, as it was all in German. So, I Googled "Sole-Zahncreme" to make sure I wasn't brushing my teeth with hemorrhoid creme!!!

Frozen spiderweb outside my hotel. I've seen webs with water, but this one was spectacularly frozen, and held like steel wire! When I came back to the hotel, I thought someone had torn it down. Turned out, the water melted, but was still intact.

My first attempt at an airport candid shot. I thought maybe this was a German businessman working diligently on a report or a proposal. Turns out, he was intently working toward victory in a game of Call To Duty! LOL

...and finally, the view out my hotel window this morning in the early morning fog. Very quiet and serene it was.

Hopefully, tomorrow's post will be much more exciting with gorgeous German architecture, as well as God's architecture of the Alps!!

Ciao!

yey! you're back with a bang! these are not mundane?!? phft..love love love that spider's web..amazing clarity and the b&w is perfect for the shot..the intense look and the posture on the man is quite hilarious..looks like he is really addicted to his game..(now, i know many here in DPS who share that kind of addiction..nooo..i am not looking at you..lol..)

..ha..ha..you should have taken a picture of your toothpaste and let us check for ourselves that that is not really a hemorrhoid cream..
