Default St Mary’s Church, Melton Mowbray

I took a quick walk into town tonight and got some really interesting shots of our local church. I love the way the uplighters throw a bright glow to the top of the tower, and the way the strong lighting shows through the windows!

Cracking image, especially like it in b&w. It gives it lots of atmosphere, I really like this image.
Well done.
David.

You're fortunate enough to have a beautifully flood-lit church and the skills to capture it perfectly.

A great perspective which looks good in b&w. Thanks for sharing!

Great image! Did you have to do much pp on it? Churches are always worth a visit.

Not as much as I was expecting to be honest. It was dark so I was shooting at ISO1600, and underexposing by 2 steps, and that just gave me enough on this one to shoot at 1/30 (any less than that and it's tripod time!).

Ran it through Photoshop, adjusted the levels, did the B/W conversion and sharpened it a tiny bit.

Very nice B&W. I like the christmas tree in the first window.
