Smile Stone carving @ Mahabalipuram, India

Last Sunday I had a nice bike trip with my roommates to Mahabalipuram, India which is well known for stone carving sculptures from 7th century...

Tiger cave...

Gods, angels, priests and animals... come on count them.....

top portion of the one of the chariot of pancha paandavas...

FYI,
All of the above sculptures are single stone sculptures!

Comments and critiques are welcome.

These are awesome. Certainly would have taken them a while to do. Think the first one would make a great house... TFS.

Pretty amazing! I truly love the elephant, and the way you've filled the frame with him. You've communicated such a wonderful sense of his majesty and simplicity. Thanks, Raveen!

These are amazing Raveen! Wonderfully Photographed as well! Just think of the time it must have taken to create these wonderful works of historic art, and how long they have endured.
Thanks for sharing these
Michael.
