I love the serious expressions and the ones that most people don't try to capture soo much more than the smile that everyone tries to get. This is a beautiful portrait!! Welcome to DPS

I agree with Ruthie, it's often the shots where the kids are not smiling that are the most interesting.
I sometimes try to include some non-smiling shots in my wedding pics for comedy value, but not everyone sees the humour ![]() A nice shot and gorgeous eyes. Thanks for sharing your photo with us.

What a Cute and well composed portrait of your Lovely Daughter. No Smile, I'd call that a Smirk. l.o.l
Thanks for sharing this Michael.

Thank you all for your kind comments! Ruthie Mae, I've just seen your site and I was amazed by the quality of your works. I think next life I'll be mother and photographer. You cannot do such pictures w/out having certain feelings. Could you please explain me the technical details beyond those extra sharp and clear eyes that appears in all your pics. There are several in which I can clearly see the pattern of the iris. Is there a special technique or is only PS (burning, sharpening, whatever)? Thanks in advance!

Thank you teebee. The sharp eyes has to be acheived in camera. I learned one thing at a time starting with exposure until I began to nail that and then moved on the focus and only concentrated on that until I began getting the majority of my shots in sharp focus and then moved on the composition. It just takes lots of practice and decent lenses. There are times that I use photoshop on the eyes (dodging/burning) but the majority of my images have nothing done to the eyes in Photoshop.

In my opinion, this is a really nice portrait. Not smiling has (most probably
) made this portrait look much more better. The litlle serious expression addds a lot. The attire of your daughter is contrasting most amazingly. And the background and blurred fairly enough as well. All in all......a great portrait indeed.
