Default Rising Moon

Took this photo the oter evening using my new G11. I have ried in the past to get one of those "great" moonshots, but just can't nail it. All of my shots are blown out, the white orb, no detail, etc.

I would appreciate any suggestions, tips, techniques anyone can provide for me to get that great shot.

Hi there - this is not a bad photo ... you certainly have the gears to improve your moon photographing ... I just went to Google and type in "How to shoot better moon photos" and it spit out pages and pages of tips and tutorial ... they range from beginners to pros .. try it

You could try taking 2 exposures and combinging them. A faster shutter speed for the moon so it isn't over exposed. Slower for the landscape...

@jpkand.
Thanks for the link. Looks like some good tips and great shots. I especially like the Church photo.

Nice shot. The moon is shining brightly in a fantastic way. The silhouette of the trees are pretty nice too.
