Lightbulb Part 1 - Sunset from the hills of Penang Island

Last Friday was a public holiday in Malaysia. Like every other public holiday that falls next to the weekends, I drove to Penang to visit my Parents. It was a very long drive. What normally would take me 4 hours, took me 7 hour due to the heavy traffic. Being able to be with my family, it was well worth it.

I took this shot up on the hills, about 15 minutes drive from the house. The last time I wanted to catch the sunset here, it was raining. Luckily this time the weather was beautiful.

Far in the horizon should be the north end of Sumatera, Indonesia. I doubt its visible from here though.

I have some more shots to share, the last lights of the day. It's amazing how the sky changes in just a few minutes. Do wait for the next post.

Hi Sparda... lovely colors... but I would have to say the last one is my favorite. Love that you caught some plants in your shot. It really adds a little something extra to that shot.
Ewww... 7 hours in traffic... I really don't like traffic, but like you said, it's well worth it if you are doing it for family.
Thanks for sharing these and looking forward to more.

whoa! lovely color and silhouette..i guess the whole drive was not all bad..you managed to get these beautiful sunset..the destination makes the discomfort of the trip all worth it but who says you cant have fun along the way.. my fave is the 2nd one with the silhouette of the tower..

hmmn..driving and tshooting reminds me of Patrick's routine "grab my camera, quick shot and drive again" routine..

Hi Sparda! These are so nice, especially the last one! I really like the folage in the foreground, it frames the shot nicely. Beautiful sunset capture.
Thanks for sharing these
Michael.

These are beautiful. I especially like the subtle shot of the island in the last shot. It seems to beckon. I'm glad you got to go home and be with your family. Too bad everyone else thought heading to Penang Island was such a great idea.

Thanks Nikky. There's some more shots, similar yet different. Because of the rules, I'm gonna post them on a new thread tomorrow.
Living in Hawaii, I bet you don't see that kinda traffic. Lucky for you.

lol These were taken in Penang, at the end of the 2nd day. The 7 hours drive was from 9pm to 4am.
maybe I'll create my own routine, Sparda's "Zue! Grab the steering wheel! Where's my camera?!" routine... Though I bet she'll grab my neck and give me a head-lock instead...
