Default Under the Bridge: Granville Island

These are also from the day that I was in Vancouver for a friends photo club meeting in Vancouvr. A member from my club and I went to Granville Island. I usually shoot things away from the bridge, but it was pouring rain so we tried to keep under shelter. I found the lighting interesting under things like the bridge, and started noticing the contrast between the bridge reinforcements/ girders, and the buildings etc. Thank for checking my stuff out.

Excellent shots Paul!!, I love the way you have captured that bridge, I remember this place well. I always love looking at your B&W captures, so crystal clear cheers Steve.

I like these Paul... There's so much going on under that bridge.
Great perspectives I like the last one... with just a bit of color.
Nice set Paul.... thanks for sharing

Lovely images Paul, I really like how the bridge towers over you in all the shots. I too love the contrast that you captured in them all (although seeing colour in your posts still catches me off guard ;-). Great lighting that captures the rainy mood too.

Paul, you have a keen eye for getting just the right composition and perspective on things. All of these are great, good work once again!

Paul number three is my choice. They are all great shots. Fantastic shots. There is something about black and whit photography when the contrast and lines all balance out. You acheived this perfectly. One day I hope my B&W's look like yours. Thanks for sharing them.

Hi Steve. For me capturing and isolating the bridge would have been fruitless. I felt that it was such a dominant structure at the market, but wanted to put it into context with the market. Glad you enjoyed these shots my friend, and I would say that your B&W is on par with mine.

Hi Nikki. That last one is one of my faves from this set. I also like the third one a lot as that darn bridgge really looms overhead, like a large UFO.

Good morning Nicky. Your comment captures what i was trying to present, the feeling of dominance overhead. Thanks for the comments.

Hey Mike. Coming from such a master of B&W youreslf, I will gladly accept your compliment. I guess it takes time to get the hang of B&W conversions.

Thanks Duane. I feel like my composition and balance is getting there, but still feel I have a ways to go. I guess all of us are our own worst critics.

Hello Al. That is one big compliment, and I am not sure if I am that worthy yet, but I am very happy to hear that I am on the right path with respect to B&W conversions. Cheers mate.
